Whirly Vent passive ventilator
Expel heat and moisture from your home all year round
Why
do you need WhirlyVent?
On the average summer's day just a few hours of hot sun can quickly transform
the average family home into an oven. Heat gathering in the roof cavity
can become as hot as 60°C. This stifling air then travels down through
the ceiling into the room below. This creates a very uncomfortable environment
inside your home.
If you have an air-conditioner it will work twice as hard to cool down
the air in your home, subsequently increasing your power bills dramatically.
In addition to heat, steam extracted from your bathroom by an exhaust
fan settles directly in the ceiling cavity. Did you know that the average
family deposits around 14 litres of moisture into the roof cavity
every day from the bathroom alone? This trapped moisture encourages the
growth of mildew in the roof cavity which could lead to wood rot and possibly
paint peeling from the ceiling.
How does the WhirlyVent work?
With a Whirly Vent air in the ceiling cavity is constantly circulated.
This keeps the temperature down inside and distributes dry air throughout,
ensuring your insulation stays fresh and dry. As hot air rises, the ventilator
begins spinning in the slightest breeze. This acts like a heat pump expelling
hot air.

How do I know it really works?
The revolutionary Whirly Vent is made in Australia and has been thoroughly
tested by the CSIRO, and meets the Australian Standard (AS2050-1989).
Even in the most severe storm conditions, scientists found rain failed
to penetrate the unique rotational vent. And in simulated cyclonic conditions,
Whirly Vent withstood a wind velocity far above the required standard
for cyclone-proof products.
